WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ELOPEMENT PACKAGE 1 & 2?
Both packages include your main 3-5 minute wedding highlight video and the raw footage. In Package 1, your vows will be within the 1-3 hour long raw footage, recorded with one camera angle and the on camera microphone which sometimes picks up wind and extra background noise. Package 1 Example (password=seafoamfilms)
In Package 2, your vows will be captured with one camera angle and additional audio for cleaner sound. They will be edited into a video separate from your raw footage for easier viewing. This package does not capture your entire ceremony, just the vows. Package 2 Example (password=seafoamfilms)

WILL YOU INCLUDE AUDIO FROM THE DAY IN MY WEDDING FILM?
I do not include audio such as vows or toasts in the main highlight video that I create. Instead I edit to a carefully chosen song that creates that music video vibe! I will, however, record your vows and toasts and offer them to you in the raw footage in Package 1, or in individually edited films in Package 2 as described above.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE MUSIC FOR MY WEDDING FILM & CAN I BE A PART OF IT?
You can definitely be a part of the music selection process if you want to! Choosing the music for each project is one of the most important parts of the process and I want it to reflect each couples’ musical taste while still working with my editing style. After we have both experienced your day and it is time to start editing, I will send you a questionnaire about your taste in music, and if you would like to be a part of the song selection process or not. You can either send me a few songs that you like or I can send you a few that I like for you to choose from! Once we have narrowed down the choices, I will listen to them while looking through your footage to see which ones are a good fit, and we can make a decision together from there!
DO I GET MY RAW FOOTAGE & WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Yes, you will always get all of your raw footage. What comes with every package is one or a few long videos where I have strung all of the hundreds of short clips together so that they can be watched back-to-back. This is usually around 1-3 hours. It will contain all of the audio that was captured with the on camera microphone as well. This footage is very raw and has not had any editing or color correction done to it. It is unpolished and incomplete, but may have some fun moments that don’t make it into the final film. I often leave my camera running as I move around and change my settings so that I will be ready to capture the moment at hand, and because of this, some parts of the raw footage may be shaky, out of focus, or improperly exposed. I also only use short sections of what I shoot when editing. Knowing that I will only need a few seconds of each shot, I either shoot in lots of short bursts, or there is often a lot of “fluff” before and after the section that I will use. Just be prepared for imperfections as you watch through the raw footage. You will see all of my mistakes and experiments, multiple takes of flowers and decorations, and you will get to hear all of the ridiculous things I say as I offer direction, my ever present betty rubble laugh, and probably some humming to myself too.
Also a good thing to note: Since I move around for creative angels, and shoot in short bursts that are conducive to my editing style, no one event at the wedding will be captured in its entirety except for any handwritten vows during the ceremony, and toasts at the reception (and the full ceremony if you choose Package 3). If you have any other special moments during the day that you would like to be captured in their entirety, let me know and I can definitely make that happen!

My home and my editing studio are located in Santa Cruz, Ca, where I have called home for most of my life.

WILL ONE SHOOTER BE ENOUGH TO MAKE MY WEDDING FILM?
Absolutely! For the type of wedding film that I create, one shooter is definitely enough. Sure, I can't be two places at once, but I am quick and nimble with my equipment, and well trained after many years in this industry in knowing where to be to never miss an important moment.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I use Canon cameras and a variety of lenses. I have a minimal gear approach so I can move around quickly and easily, and shoot mostly handheld in order to get those creative angles!
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO WEDDING FILMMAKING?
My shooting approach is handheld, minimalistic and mobile, moving around quickly and easily to get creative shots and cover as much ground as possible. I use just one shooter (me), and bring minimal gear so that I or my equipment will never be in the way. Being mobile and quick keeps me able to watch out for and capture the important moments, which I believe creates a more authentic video. It is important to me that the big moments of your day unfold naturally, so I step out of the way and just document for those, but I will jump in and offer some direction when I see a good shot at the right time. My editing approach is fast paced and modern and rooted in music choice. It is fun like a music video and nostalgic like a home movie. It is short and sweet, engaging, and leaving you wanting more. My goal is to make you feel the fun!
WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT MY FINISHED WEDDING FILM?
Editing is a time consuming process. Because I don’t edit from a prescribed mold, and pour my heart and soul into each one individually, the wait time can be longer than expected. Specific wait times will vary quite a bit, but on average, you should expect an 12-16 week wait. The longest you will wait is 6 months. The shortest you will wait is 2 weeks. It really just depends on what other projects I have going at the same time as yours and when in the wedding season yours takes place. I work on weddings in consecutive order, and as projects stack up, the wait time gets longer. Weddings in the beginning of the season will be finished much quicker than weddings at the end of the season.
HOW DO I BOOK SEAFOAM FILMS & WHAT IS YOUR DEPOSIT?
Once you are ready to book, I will send you an online contract to review and sign. I ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit upon contract signing and the remaining balance due two weeks before the wedding date. Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, your date is secure!
WHAT GOT YOU INTERESTED IN WEDDING FILMS?
I have always loved making little movies and experiencing the feelings that are created by watching them. From making silly little home videos, to working on the set of feature films in my adult years, I have bounced around a lot in the filmmaking industry looking for my niche. From 2004-2008 I attended UCSB and received a B.A. in Film and Media Studies, providing me with a foundation in film theory and history. After college, I worked in a few different areas of production, experimenting with how to make a career out of my passion and learning the technical and hands-on side to filmmaking. In 2013, a career began to take shape as I was introduced to wedding filmmaking, and I finally feel like I have found the niche that I have always been looking for!
